Document Management

The features of document production make Filestream a perfect solution for document management, allowing information to be saved as a “tag” against the document. The system:

• automatically records information which can be pre-determined (eg client, transaction)
• can be set to include predefined tags to ensure that required information is completed by the user in the correct way
• allows for the addition of categories of free text tags.

Document management gives greater flexibility for reviewing documentation than on a file basis, but users can find the concept difficult to work with when they are at the same time trying to work on a transactional basis. Filestream allows users to work within the normal file structure system while giving access to documents across the system, incorporating the best features of both approaches.
